One month left to apply for Singleton Mayoral Scholarship
There is just one month remaining for residents pursuing further study in 2015 to get their applications in for the Singleton Mayoral Scholarship Program.
Scholarships of $2000 will be awarded to residents of the Singleton local government area studying or with the intention of enrolling to study in 2015 in one of the four scholarship categories:
• Trade and Vocational – for a student currently completing an apprenticeship, traineeship, vocational study in any discipline
• University – for a student studying undergraduate, postgraduate, masters and doctorate
• School Leavers – for a student in year 10, year 11 or year 12 in 2015 and/or completed the School Certificate or the Higher School Certificate in 2014
• Mature Age – a student over the age of 35 years
The scholarships can be put towards education fees, tools, text books, transport or housing costs.
The Singleton Mayoral Scholarship Program is now in its sixth year and was established to celebrate community contribution and academic achievements.
Recipients enjoy a range of benefits including practical experience at application writing and panel interviewing, recognition of their academic achievement and community spirit, and the opportunity to network with local business and local government staff.
Applications and terms and conditions are available at www.singleton.nsw.gov.au/scholarship and close on Friday 27 February 2015. The winners will be announced on 9 April 2015.
